Scope of this chapter

This chapter sets out the Statements of Purpose for the CQC Registered Provider Services in Milton Keynes.

The Home 1st Reablement Team aims to provide short-term assessment, therapy led reablement and support to help you to become more independent. We work with you to plan your support to help you get better, and stay better.

The aim of the In-House Domiciliary Care Service is to provide a high quality, flexible personal care service that is cost effective and meets best value requirements.

Our service provides support and promotes the independence of older people and younger people with physical disabilities, to enable them to remain in their own homes as long as possible and it is safe to do so.

The aim of Kilkenny House Care Services is to provide a high quality flexible personal care service that is cost-effective and meets best value requirements. The service promotes the independence of Older People to enable them to remain in their own homes as long as possible and it is safe to do so.

Flowers House is a purpose-built facility of 34 individual flats and a care team on site 24 hours a day. It provides professional support of a practical, emotional, and personal nature to tenants aged 60 and over with a diagnosis of Dementia.

The aim of the Flowers House Care Service is to provide a high-quality, flexible personal care service that meets fundamental standards of care. The service promotes the philosophy, that every person with dementia will have the support of people who are trained to adapt their interaction to reduce the stress and anxiety that dementia may bring. It is essential that support is tailored to the person and their personal interests and specific needs, encouraging independence and choice in the decisions they make.

Courteneys Lodge aims to provide high-quality person-centered care that meets fundamental standards of care. The service promotes the philosophy that every person with dementia should have the support of people who are confident and trained in dementia care. Staff are able to adapt their interaction to reduce the stress and anxiety that dementia may bring. It is essential that support is tailored to the person and their personal interests and specific needs and beliefs, encouraging independence and choice in the decisions they make.

Milton Keynes Council day services offer a service to older people and individuals living with a diagnosis of dementia. The service aims to improve the quality of life for individuals, enabling them to socialise with others in a relaxed community setting. We support physical and emotional needs by providing a flexible, warm, and friendly environment that assists with maintaining ongoing independence. The day services provide respite for care givers enabling them some time away from their caring responsibilities.

Milton Keynes Council adult day services supports people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and who also may need support with physical needs and complex health issues or support with 'behaviours that may cause concern'. Some of the people the services support may also have autism. The service operates within a Positive Behaviour Support framework which is a person-centered approach and involves understanding a person's behaviour to enable effective care planning aimed at enhancing a person’s quality of life.

Shared Lives is a registered service with the Care Quality Commission and provides a service for people with eligible care and support needs who are from 16 years old in the following areas; learning disability, physical disability, mental health, dementia, and older people. The service supports individuals to find suitable compatible matches with Shared Lives carers who are self-employed and provide the support from their own home. The service provided can be for the day, overnight stays, or long-term placements.

The service provides an opportunity for the person to gain independence and be part of their community whilst providing essential respite for family carers.
